14 October 2022

With this new purchase the number of school buses in Kazakhstan will increase by 50%. The new school buses will appear in the villages of Kazakhstan. First of all, transportation will be provided to children living in small villages, where there are no schools and who have to travel to other settlements for education. The Kazakhstan news site Liter.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Currently, more than 25 thousand students need transportation. The greatest need for school buses is noted in the Turkestan, Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Almaty, Pavlodar regions. The problem of providing schools in the regions with new vehicles for transporting children has been resolved by allocating funds on a national level for the purchase of new buses. A roadmap has also been developed for further supplying educational organizations with buses, the Ministry of Education and Science reported. In total, more than one thousand school buses run today in Kazakhstan. New buses of domestic assembly will be purchased on preferential terms under the

financial leasing program. This will make it possible to gradually upgrade the entire bus fleet of the country's schools. The technical requirements for the purchased vehicles were specified by the Ministry of Education and Science: buses should be designed for 20-40 seats. Vehicles must be equipped with child seats with seat belts, a system to prevent leaving children in the cabin, an emergency exit in the rear of the cabin. In addition, when children are transported on a school bus, they must be accompanied by a special employee approved by order of the school principal.
